How to pitch to an entertainment writer

Craig Welsh is writing a series of posts on his blog on the subtleties of pitching a story to an entertainment writer, or on starting a successful media campaign. Entertainment writers get jaded very quickly by the flood of press releases and requests for stories. Catching their attention is not as simple as just dropping them a line to say "listen to my new CD" or "read my new book".

Some of Craig's information is specific to Newfoundland, but there's something in there for anybody starting out and trying to flag down the media. Here's links to the five posts.

Really sorry, but new comments have been disabled because the spammers have ruined it for everyone. I don't maintain this blog any more and almost all the comments I get are people trying to sneak in links to their products. If you really genuinely have something you need to say to me personally, email me at kirsten --AT-- crowstoburnaby dot com.
